Our Frequently Asked Questions

What is cabling or snaking?

This is the lower end of drain cleaning. It’s able to remove soft blockages such as toilet paper. It can handle the occasional root protrusion but is not capable to remove it completely.

What is CIPP and when would I need this?

CIPP stands for “Cured In Place Piping”. It’s a process where we are able to make a small cut in your basement floor and invert a liner from there all the way to the main. It’s a great way to repair your main line without having the hassle of digging up your entire yard. It’s been around for years and is a great alternative to digging and destroying your landscape. We cannot use it in every situation but when it’s able to be done the customer goes with this option.

What is Hydro-Jetting?

Hydro-Jetting is when we use our diesel powered trailer jetter to remove blockages. It is used in more serious blockages like root balls, dirt, sand and blockages over 100’ down the line that a cable cannot reach. It has a more thorough cleaning range compared to snaking a line. Our Jetters run at 4000 PSI and 18 gallons per minute.

When would you use a Milling machine?

A Milling machine is a very versatile and powerful machine. While we do use it for blockages it is used more so to descale pipes. Many older homes with cast iron pipes would require the usage of this. It can descale the inside of the pipe and return it to “like-new” condition. We also use it for prepping your line prior to lining it.

Why do you recommend to camera the line after removing the blockage?

Removing a blockage is just the start. If we remove a small blockage with the cable machine and walk away without scoping the line, we might be walking away before knowing it’s completely cleaned. Using the camera allows us to visually inspect the drain to find the cause of the blockage and further action could be necessary.
